FACE

PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP)

‘Vampire face-lift’ or ‘Vampire facial’

Who is it suitable for?

To improve facial lines, wrinkles and the quality and texture of skin. PRP contains multiple growth factors and when injected back into the skin, will stimulate the production of collagen and stimulate the formation of new blood vessels for a rejuvenated effect.

What is involved?

Blood is taken from a vein in the arm and centrifuged to separate out the PRP from the red blood cells. The area to be injected is prepared with local anaesthetic cream or injection. The PRP is then injected back into the area. PRP injections can also be combined with hyaluronic acid injections or microneedling. It usually takes 2-3 months to see the effect and optimal results are achieved with a course of 3 or more treatments, performed in sequence with 6-8 week intervals in between. Improvement in the skin is noticed for up to 6 months after the last treatment.
